The sudden, February 26th death of Assistant City Manager Kelly Meyer was a sad loss for Prior Lake city government and everyone who knew, and worked with, her.
Wes Mader, retired Mayor and current CAG Chairman, remembers Kelly as the “go to person” at city hall whenever information or documentation was needed. “Kelly had a work ethic that could serve as a model for all of us.”
Meyer had been with the city for 17 years. She was the city’s human resources director as well as overseeing the work of several city departments. Kelly was an energetic, committed person who was active in the community and the city’s liaison to the Downtown Business Association, Farmers Market, and Chamber of Commerce. In 2013 the Chamber gave her its 2013 Business Person of the Year award.
She will be greatly missed.
