CITY MANAGER BOYLES RECEIVED YEAR-END RAISE
After receiving a significant salary increase in May of 2012, we have learned that City Manager Boyles also received an additional raise at year-end. According to City records,
last year’s Council held a special Wednesday night meeting on December 19 (a last meeting of the year, 6 days before Christmas) to approve a new contract for the City Manager. The new contract included a 1 percent salary increase. The rationale spelled out in the Staff agenda report as to why the City Manager needed a new contract just 7 months after his last contract was signed was “so that the Council who has worked with the City Manager over the past year is the Council making the decisions prior to any turnover in January”.
