Michael McGuire was elected on Tuesday to the seat he gained by appointment in 2013.
IT professional Annette Thompson defeated college student Andy Gonyou for the other available four-year seat.
Thompson actually got more votes than incumbent McGuire. With all eight of the city’s precincts reporting, Thompson took almost 43 percent of the vote, with McGuire getting about 35 percent and Gonyou gaining about 22 percent.” (excerpted from Prior Lake American, 4-November 2014)
