Register on Election Day
To register at the polls on Election Day, voters should bring proof of residence in one of these forms:
1. An ID with current name and address (valid driver’s license, learner’s permit or ID, or receipt for any of these; or a tribal ID with name, address, photo and signature.
2. A photo ID and a document with current name and address.
Acceptable IDs include a driver’s license, state ID or learner’s permit issued by any state; a U.S. passport; a U.S. military or veteran ID; a tribal ID with name, signature and photo; a Minnesota university, college or technical college ID; or a Minnesota high school ID.
Acceptable documents include a bill, account or start-of-service statement due or dated within 30 days of the election for: phone, TV or internet; solid waste, sewer, electric, gas or water; banking or credit card; or rent or mortgage. Also acceptable are residential lease or rent agreements valid through Election Day and current student fee statements. Documents also may be shown on an electronic device.
3. One of these other options:
Bring a registered voter who can confirm your address
Bring a college student ID with housing list
Valid registration in the same precinct
Notice of late registration
Bring a staff person of a residential facility
