Residents are entitled to believe local government exists to serve the needs of our residents. After all, citizen taxpayers pay the bills. But does City Hall have a different agenda?
Residents expect management employees in local government to be ethical and accountable in their use of taxpayer dollars, but are these expectations realistic? Who should pick up the tab when a city-initiated project is more beneficial to a business interest than to residents in general?
